For all BT broadband users who impatiently download movies and wish that their connection was four times faster, good news ... BT has announced plans to speed up the nation’s broadband internet access with speeds up to 8MB a second. The move will pave the way for the autumn 2006 launch of a video-on-demand service. BT’s retail arm will offer a free upgrade to the new speed to its 2.3 million broadband customers from April 2006, provided they agree to a new 12-month contract.
